The Delkor Fully Automatic Flocculant Plant is designed to work in conjunction with the thickener control system to minimize the amount of flocculant being used. By optimizing flocculant consumption Delkor can dramatically lower the overall operating expenditure of the thickener – payback period can be a matter of just a few months.
Delkor using its 30 years experience in the thickener business has developed a flocculant plant that not only caters for the wide range of process conditions that arise within a thickener but requires minimal input for maintenance and operation. Using the design parameters and potential future requirements, Delkor engineers optimize the design of the wetting head, hydration and transfer time as well as providing a control philosophy that is both effective yet robust.
The Delkor Flocculant Plants are individually designed to suit each customers needs. We can design plants from 1kg/day up to 10,000kg/day and have designed plants that use salt water as the solvent. A lot of effort has been made to make these units modular which allows for simple installation on site as well as lowering the cost of transportation to site.
The typical Delkor Flocculant plant consists of the following:
• Powder Storage Hopper
• Screw Feeder
• Blower
• Wetting Head
• Preparation Tank
• Positive Displacement Pumps
• Dosing Tank
• Air Agitator/Mixer
• Dosing Pumps
• Control Instrumentation including Flowmeters, Level Devices, Valves
• Control System
Powder Hopper + Bag Holder (Auto systems only)
Fabricated in Mild Steel (ASTM A-36), with a flanged base for a knife gate isolation valve. The powder hopper includes a cover plate with a grid for addition of dry powder. The hopper is fitted with a low level switch to provide indication of an empty tank. A 0.37 kW powder hopper stirrer is provided to minimise bridging at the tank outlet and to break lumps.
