The Delkor Filter Press is a robust and reliable pressure filter designed for optimum solution recovery and maximum solids dryness. The filters are available from lm2 to 500m2 filtration area at operating pressures up to 25 bar.

The Delkor Manual Filter Press is a low cost filtration option suitable for small tonnages and long filtration cycle times where manual labour is available to open the press and discharge the solids. The filter press is opened and closed either by hydraulic hand pump or an electrically driven hydraulic system. The plates are supported on side bars and plate shifting is completely manual.

The Delkor Automatic Filter Press is specified for larger tonnages or hazardous applications where the full operating cycle is automated, where human involvement must be kept to a minimum. The only operator input is during cake discharge. This is to ensure full cake discharge and that no cake is caught in-between plates, as this leads to leaking and plate deformation. The press is opened and closed by an electrically driven hydraulic power pack. The plate shifting bogey operates either via PLC or by hand held controller.

Process Options

Dewatering

For straight-forward dewatering applications the feed slurry is introduced into the Delkor Filter Press via the filter Press feed pump.

The solids are trapped by the filter cloth and the filtrate is discharged, via the plate drainage grid which is connected to the corner ports.

The driving force for filtration is generated by the Filter Press feed pump and filtration rates or final moistures can be improved by increasing the feed pressure up to 15 bar.

Standard units are designed for 7, 15, or 25 bar pressure.

Once the filter cake is fully formed the feed pressure may be maintained to further consolidate the cake before discharge.

Membrane Squeezing

On completion of dewatering, a membrane which forms part of the filter plate is inflatedpneumatically or hydraulically.

By inflating the membrane, the filter cake is squeezed in order to effect further cake dewatering, or to ensure a competent filter cake for the cake wash and / or air blow cycle.

The membrane is extremely successful in reducing final moistures of poor filtering materials such as clay.

Cake Washing / Air-blow Drying

The filter cake is washed or air-dried by introducing washwater or air into a corner port, The configuration of the corner port valves ensures a plug-flow through the filter cake.

Cash Washing:

Washwater moves through the filter cake displacing the filtrate and any solubles in a plug flow fashion.

Air Blow:

Air passes between the solid particles removing the inter-particle solution
